Library Management
> Book tracking
Dassnagar offers a dedicated Asset Management system designed for
Library Management (automation of the book handling process
including checkout, inventory maintenance, and check-in
activities). When combined with automatic or Computer Assisted
sorting equipment, RFID facilitates and speeds up book
sorting. Automating this process allows librarians to spend
more time with customers increasing customer
satisfaction.
The system provides an intelligent way for libraries to
maximize their investment in RFID with optimized memory and built-in EAS
features. As an RFID solution provider, Dassnagar has invested significantly
in developing and certifying an international standard and state of the art
RFID systems offering, and has built strong partnerships with library
automation equipment providers to offer complete integrated solutions for
libraries management.
Benefits
- RFID tags replace both the bar code and EAS
(anti-theft) device allowing for much faster conversion of
library materials in new branches. In existing libraries,
RFID tags can co-exist with existing EM anti-theft
systems.
- Check-out stations can be automated with easy,
intuitive interfaces Book returns can be automated with
check-in, EAS activation, and systems updates completed
simultaneously in the book return chute.
- Fast on-the-shelf inventory allows for much better
accuracy in collection management and increased book turns
resulting in reduced book purchasing. This allows
libraries to expand their collections without increasing
their budgets.
Conclusion
RFID systems in Libraries can eliminate significant manual labor, generating
typical ROI under 1 yr.

in textile rental has, to date, centered on automating
the garment handling process, including: check-in,
sorting, and checkout. RFID systems are extremely
accurate and generate significant improvements in
customer satisfaction.
Benefits
- Soiled garment check-in can be conducted inside of the
delivery bags saving time and increasing accuracy.
- Clean garments can be automatically or semi-automatically
sorted saving significant labor costs.
- RFID enables automated customer premises garment collectors
and dispensers allowing for further reduction of end-customer
costs and increased textile services margins.
Conclusion
RFID systems in textile rental
can eliminate significant manual labor, generating typical ROI under 2 yrs.

Supply chain management
> Food processing
Companies have long sought full supply chain visibility as a means to lower
inventory costs and control shrinkage. To date, full visibility has been
difficult to achieve because goods are effectively lost in the supply chain.
RFID in concert with supply chain event management software can enable full
visibility allowing companies to fully track their inventory in circulation.

Gas Cylinder tracking
Dassnagar
offers RFID based reliable identification solution for industrial gas
cylinder tracking. Handwheel/shroud tags are employed for identifying gas
cylinders either individually or in whole shipments on the back of trucks
or in pallets. Cylinders can thus be tracked throughout their lives, from
the filling plant through the delivery cycle back to the owner, with
real-time delivery of feedback to management information systems. Not only
does this system prevent theft, damage and loss of cylinders, but it also
helps to improve the supply chain processes by ensuring that the correct
cylinders are loaded and delivered and that cylinders don’t stay with
customers longer than necessary. Handwheel tag can easily retrofitted and
new cylinders are being manufactured with the tags already part of them.
Long range reading is done either by overhead portal readers for trucks and
forklifts or by handheld readers with wireless LAN. Both readers link to a
central database. These tags have been environmentally tested and can
survive all expected temperature and weather extremes. The key attribute of
the RFID tag used is that it provides a robust local and secure read-write
data cache, which always contains the most recent information pertinent to
the cylinder.
The Smart Cylinder system developed for tracking of Gas
Cylinders comprises the following elements :
- Read-write passive tags (handwheel/shroud) installed on
cylinder shoulders,
- Ruggedised portable Pocket-PC platform or a fixed overhead
with a tag reader module,
- Desktop or laptop PC and application software
The application software can take care of the following :
- Manufacturer Information
(serial number, model, working
& test pressures and other OEM information)
- Asset Management Information
(end-user requirements: asset or inventory
number, asset receipt date and current location)
- Inspection Information(key safety related data: type of inspection, retest and
repair, date and location of last inspection and retest, date of the next inspection etc)
- Cylinder Filling Information
(current cylinder contents: date and place of last fill,
type of gas, fill pressure, fill counter to determine the no of fills in life time etc)
- Report Generation
(comprehensive reporting: current status and historial logs of each cylinder in the cycle)
Other data can also be programmed on request.

Automotive
- Auto ID
An RFID active tag sticker fixed to a windscreen gives an automobile a unique
and secured
identification, complementing the current and highly forged ID plate.
Typical applications being:
- Vehicle registration - automobile maintenance database - proof of insurance etc
- Emissions inspection / control / enforcement
- Access Contol of vehicles in gated application like military installations,
ammunition factories, country borders, restricted areas, residential complexes, university campuses and
more.
- Toll collection in bridges, highways
- Revenue access control for parking to allow express passage of vehicles and automatic
payment and tracking with an audit trail

DVD Rental
RFID tracking of rental assets is set to increase dramatically. DVD rental
applications include both traditional storefront video rental as well as newly
developed DVD vending machine rentals. This solution can also
be used for Document identification, Loan, archiving and
Storage management.
Benefits include:
- Reliable and secure identification of each item - DVD, video, documents…
- Better asset management control over rental and loan programs - from
initial lend date and person to return date and related fees;
- Protection against theft, losses, falsification and coping of material;
- Guarantee of quality and originality of item (DVD, video, documents…)
The DVD solution consists of the following elements:
- Anti-theft, void security system on self-adhesive Radio frequency ID
tags;
- Fixed reading stations that are integrated into automatic rental
machines for DVD and videos. Hand held terminals can also be used for
manual check-outs and check-ins;
- Software that manages the assigned information per item and
corresponding information on the renter, date out, return date, name of
film etc.

Pallet Container Tracking
Nail tags are embedded into the of pallet. Once embedded, it
cannot be harmed by any external influence. The pallets can
then be identified or tracked using this unique serial number
in conjunction with either fixed or handheld readers. RFID
adhesive label tags may also be used instead of Nail tags on
critical surfaces.

Access Control
An RFID access control solution allows entry to authorized personnel
in restricted locations. As the cardholder approaches the door a simple wave of the card in the
proximity of a wall mounted reader will open the door. Access
may be combined with a time control function to increase the convenience for your
company employees.
Computer and Internet Access Control :
Replace the password with a more secure RFID solution. The
password can only be applied by placing the transponder on a
specially designed mouse pad-reader. The same method can be an
effective way to secure your internet access. This solution is also
perfect for protecting e-commerce transactions.
CD's and CD-ROM's :
Apply our specially designed RFID adhesive label to
your CD's or CD-ROM's to protect your recording, data and
software against piracy. With the availability of 'CD-Burners'
today anyone can copy CD's and CD-ROM's. However, with our
security label and its unique ID number this is no longer
possible. You can also protect your computer system against
unauthorized programs and discs.
